Mario Gorito's Biography
_____Mario started studying the guitar seriously about 10 years ago. Originally from Brazil, and currently living in the LA area, he has been keeping busy by playing and teaching both in Southern and Northern California. He graduated from the LA Music Academy (LAMA) in 2007 with a tutor certificate, and studied the guitar with great musicians and teachers such as Frank Gambale, Dave Hill, Jeff Richman, Ross Bolton, Steve Fister, Bill Fowler, and Art Renshaw, Jerry Watts, Brad Rabuchin, and many others.
_____Currently, you can find Mario playing live shows in the LA area with his original band Honeysmash, and backing up artists such as Russian singer/pianist/composer Sonya Kahn, and singers John Lavesque (Wild Horses) and Kat Newman in a tribute band to Motown rock n’ roll style called Retrospect.
_____Besides playing live shows, recording, and teaching, Mario has also composed and co-composed many songs with different artists, and is currently working on his own solo album. His taste in music is very wide, having influences from many artists and styles such as Joe Satriani, Kiko Loureiro, Frank Gambale, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page, Joe Pass, and lot more great musicians.
